Good ideas are seeds. Here they become prototypes.
Colabtec Seed is Colabtec's technical incubation program. We take in early-stage ideas, projects, and startups and create the environment for them to germinate: an engineering assessment, mentorship, a product roadmap, labs, and bench work. All backed by real infrastructure in China, inside the Zhuhai Kameda Technology ecosystem.

Seed is for you if…
Inventors and researchers
You have a technical idea, a study, or an invention still living on paper — and you need a lab, engineering, and mentorship to take the first step.
Pre-MVP startups
Your team already knows what problem it wants to solve, but still needs to turn the solution into a prototype, proof of concept, or initial product.
Students, professors, and developers
Technical projects born at a university or in code that don't yet have structure, a company, or a defined path.
Small businesses with a new product
Brazilian companies that need to get a product off the drawing board and want to do it with China's industrial ecosystem close at hand.
Between the idea and the prototype lies a valley where most projects die. Not for lack of talent — for lack of environment.
- ✕You don't have a lab, equipment, or a bench to test what you've imagined.
- ✕You're missing applied engineering: someone to turn the concept into a board, firmware, and a product.
- ✕You don't know where to find suppliers or what manufacturing costs.
- ✕Without mentorship and a roadmap, every decision becomes trial and error — and the project loses months.
- ✕Without drawings, a bill of materials, and a unit cost at volume, nobody can quote your product: not a factory, and not you either.
Colabtec Seed exists to solve this
Step by step, no mystery
- 01
You apply
Fill out the form telling us your idea, the problem it solves, and its current stage. It doesn't need to be ready — that's what Seed is for.
- 02
We assess it technically
Our team analyzes feasibility, field, and what the project needs. Within 10 business days you get the Seed Assessment: whether it can be manufactured, what has to change in the design, and what each stage costs.
- 03
We build the roadmap
Together we define the plan: dated stages, mentorship, lab usage, engineering support, and the commercial format that makes sense for your case.
- 04
We incubate the seed
Your project moves forward with prototyping, supplier research, documentation, and access to Colabtec's facilities in Zhuhai, per your plan.
- 05
We close the technical package
You finish with a working prototype, drawings, a bill of materials, a test report, and estimated tooling and unit costs at volume. It's the package a factory asks for before quoting production — and it's yours to keep.
What you get with Seed
Real labs
Access to innovation labs and the industrial infrastructure of Zhuhai Kameda Technology, with an SMT line and electronics production in the same building.
Engineering and prototyping
Engineering support to turn concept into prototype: hardware, firmware, testing, and rapid iteration within the Chinese ecosystem.
Mentorship and roadmap
Mentors who have been developing products in China since 2006 help set priorities, avoid costly mistakes, and plan every stage.
Suppliers at the source
Supplier research straight from China: components, materials, and manufacturing with people who've known the local market for nearly 20 years.
An engineering assessment with a deadline
The first deliverable has a date: R$ 490 for the Seed Assessment, ready in 10 business days, credited in full against the first stage if you continue with the program within 90 days.
Documentation and intellectual property
Drawings, bill of materials, test reports, and support filing a patent or industrial design when it applies. All of it stays yours, even if you decide to carry on alone afterwards.
Seed beyond the pitch
Real people, real infrastructure — the way it actually happens in China.

Incubation
Contact us
The classic incubator model, with an entry fee or monthly fee depending on the project's plan.
- ✓Mentorship and a roadmap with dated milestones
- ✓Lab usage per your plan
- ✓Engineering and prototyping support
- ✓Supplier research and unit cost
Partnership
Contact us
For projects where our technical team takes on the development with you: an engineering contract, with part of the fee tied to future revenue when that makes sense.
- ✓Everything in the Incubation model
- ✓Deep involvement from the technical team
- ✓Support with documentation and intellectual property
- ✓Follow-through to the pilot run
Sponsored
R$5,400/month
A project subsidized by a government program, grant, public call, or university — we help build the technical plan and the reporting.
- ✓Full incubation infrastructure
- ✓Reports for the sponsor
- ✓Liaison with universities and public programs
Incubators work in different ways — and Seed is flexible by design. Every project starts with the Seed Assessment, and the model for the months that follow is defined together with you before anything is signed. All prices on this page are in Brazilian reais (BRL). Colabtec does not intermediate securities, does not seek third-party money for the projects, and does not promise that anyone will put money into them: equity, where it exists, is negotiated in a separate corporate instrument, signed outside the platform.

FAQ
Still have questions?
What's the difference between Colabtec Seed and Colabtec Speed?
Seed is incubation, Speed is acceleration. Seed serves projects that still need to be born or take shape as a prototype. Speed serves companies that already have something working — a product, a market, or revenue — and need to grow faster. If your idea is still on paper, this is your place.
Do I need a registered company or a prototype to apply?
No. Seed was built precisely for the stage before all of that: inventors, researchers, students, and pre-MVP startups. If you have a good idea and the drive to develop it, you can apply now. We'll evaluate it and tell you honestly what we see.
How much does Seed cost?
The entry point has a fixed price: R$ 490 for the Seed Assessment, delivered in 10 business days and credited in full against the first stage if you continue with the program within 90 days. From incubation onward there's no single price list, because the format changes with the project: a monthly fee, an entry fee, a development contract, or a project subsidized by a government program, grant, or public call. The model is defined together with you before anything is signed.
Are my information and my idea protected?
Yes. Each project stays restricted to the technical team working on it, with controlled access levels, and we'll sign an NDA whenever you ask. Nothing about your project leaves Colabtec — not even to a partner factory — without your written consent.
Do I need to go to China to participate?
Seed's physical infrastructure is in Zhuhai: labs, engineering, and the industrial base of Zhuhai Kameda Technology. Access to the facilities is defined by each project's plan — assessment, mentorship, and roadmap can start remotely, and the trip to China comes when the project calls for it.
Who owns the intellectual property of whatever gets developed?
You do. The idea arrives yours and stays yours, and whatever Colabtec develops under an engineering contract is handed over to you: drawings, code, manufacturing files, and test reports. When a patent or industrial design filing is worth it, we point you to the route and the firm. If at some point Colabtec comes in as a shareholder in the project, that is negotiated separately, in a corporate instrument of its own, signed outside the platform and with independent legal counsel on each side.
